A warm welcome to Dr Suneel Sarswat, who joined the University of Bristol’s Mumbai Enterprise Campus as Assistant Professor in Financial Technology in June 2026. Suneel completed his PhD in Computer Science at the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR), Mumbai, in 2024, with a thesis titled A Formal Approach to Exchange Design and Regulation. He also holds an MSc in Applied Statistics from IIT Bombay. His research spans computational finance, machine learning, formal verification, and financial market design, including the development of formally verified double-auction mechanisms. Prior to joining Bristol, Suneel’s experience included quantitative research at Bank of America, teaching data science and machine learning, and regulatory consulting for SEBI and the Ministry of Finance.
